Kate M. Brannelly, FSMPS, has joined Legat Architects, Inc., as Chief Marketing Officer. A member of SMPS Chicago, Kate has more than 24 years’ experience as a principal and marketing professional at regional, national, and international architectural/engineering firms in Chicago, Boston, and Texas. Founded in 1964, Legat Architects (www.legat.com) is a full-service architectural firm specializing in the design of commercial/residential, municipal, healthcare, and K-12 and higher education facilities. The firm serves clients regionally and nationally from offices in Chicago, Oak Brook, Crystal Lake, and Waukegan, IL, and Columbus, OH.

  

 

Kim Shinn, PE, LEED AP, CPSM, Director of Sustainable Design for TLC Engineering for Architecture and President of SMPS Nashville, has been elected to a three-year term on the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Board of Directors, effective in 2007. Kim has 26 years of engineering experience in healthcare, institutional, and industrial building design and is the co-founder and chair of the USGBC’s Middle Tennessee Chapter. Based in Orlando, TLC (www.tlc-engineers.com) has a staff of 400 and regional offices in Cocoa, Deerfield Beach, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Miami, Tallahassee, and Tampa, FL, and Nashville, TN. The firm provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, communications, technology, and security system design services in addition to LEED consulting and LEED commissioning.

 

LEO A DALY is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig E. Park, FSMPS, Associate AIA, as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Craig will be responsible for leading all corporate business development and marketing activities for LEO A DALY and Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN), a LEO A DALY company. He will be based in LEO A DALY's corporate offices in Omaha, NE. A Past National President of SMPS, Craig has been active in the building industry for more than 25 years. The firm employs more than 1,200 architects, planners, engineers, and interior designers in 22 offices worldwide.

 

Valarie Blaes has joined the staff of Hankins and Anderson as Senior Marketing Coordinator. She is a member of SMPS Virginia. Hankins and Anderson (www.haengineers.com) is a Richmond, VA-based consulting engineering firm.

 

Susan Frost is the photographer and author of a new full-color, coffee table book, Portland, Oregon: A Photographic Portrait. The book, published by Twin Lights Publishers Inc., includes 150 of her images of Portland, along with well-researched and informative captions detailing the city’s history. Susan is the president of Susan Frost Photography, a division of SEF Consulting Inc. (www.sefconsulting.com), which provides stock and assignment photography for a wide range of subjects including architecture, travel destinations, portraits, and landscapes. Susan is a member of SMPS Oregon.
