Deadlines Announced for National Awards Programs
Each year SMPS National honors the best and brightest leaders in the profession and the Society through a number of prestigious awards programs.

These programs include:

•Marketing Communications Awards

•Marketing Achievement Award

•Fellows Recognition Program

•Chapter President of the Year

•Striving for Excellence

•Chapter Communication Awards

•NEW! Chapter Program Awards.

If you have been impressed by the professionalism of an esteemed colleague, the dedication of your Chapter President, or the innovation of your chapter board, nominate that individual/group for recognition by the Society. The criteria and entry deadlines for these awards programs are now available on the web site at www.smps.org. A synopsis of each of the programs (including a link to more details) appears below.

Award recipients will be honored during special events at Build Business: Setting the Stage, the SMPS/PSMA National Conference, August 16-19 in Hollywood, CA.

Marketing Communications Awards

The SMPS National Marketing Communications Awards recognize outstanding marketing vehicles created by architectural, engineering, design, and construction firms. Awards are presented in 18 categories; in addition, a small-firm award winner is named in each category. Award winners benefit from industry recognition, networking opportunities, and free publicity in SMPS publications and press releases and on the national web site.

The deadline for entries is April 7, 2006. Entry forms are in the mail to members. Additional forms can be printed from the web at www.smps.org/awards/mca.htm. Questions may be directed to Molly Dall'Erta at 800.292.7677, x231, or molly@smps.org. To view winning entries from past years, visit the Awards section of the SMPS web site at www.smps.org/awards/mca.htm.

Marketing Achievement Award

The annual Marketing Achievement Award salutes an individual whose achievements and lasting contributions to the industry are exemplary. To be eligible for consideration, a nominee must be an SMPS member and have demonstrated significant and measurable accomplishments in research, education, leadership, marketing, and innovation.

The deadline for entries is May 5, 2006. For more information, visit www.smps.org/awards/maa.htm or contact SMPS Director of Membership Tina Myers at 800.292.7677, x224, or tina@smps.org.

Fellows Recognition Program

The Fellows of SMPS represent the highest level of experience and leadership in marketing within the design and building community. The Fellows serve as a resource at the chapter, regional, and national levels, providing insight, ideas, programs, and mentoring for the benefit of the members and the Society. In addition, these individuals teach, write, and speak on marketing issues outside of SMPS, working to advance the profession of marketing professional services throughout the A/E/C industry.

Only members who have been active in the Society for more than 10 years and who hold a current Certified Professional Services Marketer designation may apply for Fellow. Eligible candidates were mailed an application package in January. If you meet the criteria and do not receive a package, please contact SMPS Fellows Liaison Earl Klinger at 800.292.7677, x222, or

earl@smps.org. The deadline to submit an application is March 31, 2006.

For more information on the Fellows Recognition Program, please visit www.smps.org/awards/fellows.htm.
