"Basics of Business Development" Workshop Offered This Spring
“The Basics of Business Development in the A/E/C Marketplace,” a one-day seminar tailored to focus a firm’s sales efforts to win work and generate profits, is scheduled in five cities in April, May, and August.

This interactive, one-day seminar challenges participants to evaluate the effectiveness of their current sales efforts, strengthen their firm's business development strategy, and role play effective business development solutions in difficult situations.

 

The program will be offered in these cities in the coming months:

  • May 11, Dallas, TX
  • May 25, Denver, CO
  • August 16, Hollywood, CA

Top-notch practitioners with records of winning work for their firms, the instructors for each course are drawn from a faculty of the following individuals:

 

  • Gilbert Brindley, P.E., CPSM, Vice President, Dick Corporation
    With more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Brindley serves as Vice President and Group Executive of the Construction Management Division at Dick Corporation and President of Dick Environmental Services, LLC, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA.

 

  • Michael Buell, Director of Business Development, Walker Parking Consultants
    Buell brings more than 13 years of experience in A/E/C business development to this program. Walker Parking Consultants is a national consulting/engineering firm with 14 offices and more than 260 staff; Buell is based in the firm’s Indianapolis office.

 

  • Karen Courtney, AIA, FSMPS, Director of Marketing/Senior Associate, BSA LifeStructures
    A registered architect and interior designer, Courtney has been a marketing director for more than 18 years, representing a range of medium to extra-large firms. BSA LifeStructures is a 250-person architectural and engineering firm with offices in Indianapolis, Chicago, and Charlotte, NC.

 

  • Judith Nitsch, P.E., LEED™ AP, President, Judith Nitsch Engineering, Inc.
    With 30 years of experience as a professional engineer registered in 18 states, Nitsch is the founding principal of Judith Nitsch Engineering, Inc., a 58-person firm based in Boston specializing in civil engineering, land surveying, traffic/transportation engineering, planning, and GIS services.
