Carolyn Ferguson, CPSM, Vice President and Creative Director of The Lentz Group, was named the recipient of SMPS Houston’s (www.smpshouston.com) 2005 Marketing Excellence Award during a ceremony on March 3. To be eligible for this honor, a nominee must demonstrate significant marketing accomplishments in the design and building industry. Carolyn is a past recipient of the SMPS National Chapter President of the Year Award. The Lentz Group (www.lentzgroup.com), an 18-year-old, Houston-based corporation, provides marketing and public involvement services primarily to design and construction industry firms.

Kelly Jackson has been promoted from Manager of Marketing Services to Director of Marketing for KAI’s Corporate Headquarters. Randy McDonald reports General Excavating received first place in the Public Works/Environmental category of Associated Builders and Contractors’ Excellence in Construction Program for its construction of the Salt Valley Generating Station – Makeup Water Supply and Blowdown, in Lincoln, NE. The Excellence in Construction Awards recognize quality and innovation in merit shop construction and honor all the members of the construction team, including the contractor, the owner, and the design team.
