Business Development Manager, San Diego

Swinerton Management and Consulting is looking for a Business Development Manager.

Essential responsibilities:
To direct and perform business development and sales activities including planning and strategy in San Diego, resulting in expansion of prospects, new contracts, and start of construction. To establish and maintain effective contact with potential buyers of construction services resulting in increased project awards.

  • Develop sales goals and strategies for San Diego operations
  • Identify, develop, and pursue potential project opportunities and client base
  • Identify and prioritize clients
  • Maintain current client relationships
  • Assist in contract negotiations as requested by Division Manager
  • Provide preconstruction services to current and prospective clients
  • Supervise preconstruction activities
  • Train project personnel and sales staff to make effective presentations
  • Maintain new business files

Education:

  • 4-year college degree
  • Professional sales training

Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in Marketing, preferably in the construction industry
  • 5 years + management experience
  • Knowledge of fee structure and contract forms
  • Knowledge of construction industry and market
  • Contract negotiating skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills

Responsible for supporting technical project managers in developing and producing proposals, qualifications, and SF 330 forms, developing electronic technical presentations, proofreading work products, developing resumes and project profiles, writing and coordinating text and graphics for collateral material, and assisting with updates to the corporate database (Deltek).
