Rochester & Associates Establishes Memorial Scholarship Fund
Due to the unexpected passing of B. Keith Rochester Jr., founder of Rochester & Associates Inc., a scholarship fund has been created at Southern Polytechnic State University in his memory.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist talented students pursuing a career in land surveying. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded each year to a qualified student pursuing a degree in land surveying.
The B. Keith Rochester Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Surveying is the first dedicated to surveyors at Southern Polytechnic.
Rochester started his company in 1966 with a $2,000 investment. Today, the company is run by his sons, Darrell and Brian Rochester, and has become Georgia's largest family-owned surveying and engineering firm. In addition to Gainesville, the Rochester firm has offices in Atlanta, Blairsville, and Fayetteville and an international office in Adana, Turkey. The company currently employs over 180 surveyors, engineers, project managers, landscape architects, and administrative staff.
Contributions to the scholarship are fully tax deductible for income tax purposes. Checks should be made payable to the Southern Polytechnic State University Foundation, 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060-2896. The contribution must specify that it is for the "B. Keith Rochester Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Surveying." Contributions also can be made online in any amount by credit card at http://advancement.spsu.edu/alumni/foundation.html.
