SMPS Participates in AIA Marketing and Media Exchange
Ron Worth, FSMPS, CPSM, FAIC, CPC, CEO of SMPS
This SMPS-sponsored event at the American Institute of Architects' Convention continues to grow in attendance and sophistication.
On June 11 in the Empire Room of the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago, as part of the AIA National Convention, SMPS National President-Elect Karen Courtney, AIA, FSMPS; SMPS National CEO Ron Worth, FSMPS, CPSM; and several board members of SMPS Chicago conducted the 5th annual Marketing and Media Exchange with the AIA Small Practices Forum.
More than 80 principals representing small architectural practices around the country reviewed the winning entries in the 2003 SMPS National Marketing Communications Award Program and brought samples of their own marketing communications materials to be critiqued by the representatives from SMPS.
David Hughes, Chair of the AIA Small Practices Forum, observed, "This exchange of ideas and information is a wonderful opportunity for AIA principals to get an honest, beneficial perspective on materials we have usually prepared in house ourselves. The exchange has given us all a better sense of the power marketing can have within our companies and its potential to enhance our personal success."
Evolving from this event, the AIA Small Practices Forum is looking to expand the synergy in their local markets where possible, bringing AIA principals together with SMPS members to share best practices and work together for tomorrow.
The next Marketing and Media Exchange will be held in Las Vegas during the 2005 AIA Convention in May.
